Raul Pries’ interest in the arena of Motor sport grew when he was on a trip to Brazil for the Interleague Circuit. The occasion was to watch a Formula 1 race! Raul Pries is the head of Exterior design at
Bentley Motors. Raul does not cite his visit to Brazil as the main inspiration to his career as an automotive designer. Raul is a deft artist on oils and acrylics and he has art and architecture as his passion.
Bentley Motors is only when he combined both the passions together, that his dreams of automotive designing began taking shape.
Raul’s design career began after he graduated from the Mackenzie University, Sao Paulo, and after serving as an exterior designer for Volkswagen Design he moved to Skoda in 1993. He joined
Bentley Motors after that and he was promoted to the position of a Head in two years time. Raul is noted for his new design philosophy that is recurrent in all the Bentley ranges with the support of his design team mates whom he refers to as his “Hands”.
