Information on Dodge Challenger
The Dodge Challenger refers to three models that was launched by the reputed automobile company, Chrysler Corporation. The first Dodge Challenger
was introduced in the year 1970. It had a wheel base of 110 inches and was designed by Carl Cameron. It came in four different car models
namely the T/A Challenger, Challenger Six, Challenger R/T and the Challenger V8 which came as hardtops, coupes or convertibles. It took the automobile world by storm selling approximately 80,000 cars in the year 1970.
The Dodge Challenger
came into the pony car segment which was actually seeing a downtrend during the time and soon the Challenger too witnessed a fall in sales after the initial record sales in 1970. The Challenger was discontinued in the year 1974 as a result of decline in sales due to the very high fuel costs and also other cars entering the scenario at very competitive prices. The model in spite of its initial fabulous entry managed to sell only 1,65,500 vehicles throughout its life. However, today the Challenger
is in great demand as a vintage car. With the supply being limited and just a handful of the Challenger left the price of these have gone through the roof.

was known abroad as Mitsubishi Sapporo. The earlier frameless hardtop style was maintained and this had a 2.6l engine. It was however discontinued in the year 1983.
